Monday, Monday

Today marked the first day of my new yardwork schedule. After countless years of doing yardwork with my mom on Tuesdays, we have now shifted to Mondays. Given that the trash/recycle/compost pickup is early Tuesday morning, it makes a lot more sense than storing the bags for almost a week, every week.

So, why didn’t we do this years ago? I’m not sure how we started with Tuesdays, but for the last three years I’ve worked out with my personal trainer on Mondays. I still do, but now I’m going at 8:45 instead of 10:00, so I am home in time to get a reasonably early start on the yard. It may seem to be a little crazy to do several hours of yardwork right after working out, but I’m actually less sore right after a workout than I am the next day.

We finished the last little bit of leaf clean-up today and spread Preen in a vain attempt to keep the weeds at bay. It actually works pretty well, except in the case of the small maple/ash/oak trees that seem to pop up everywhere. That made a total of 17 bags out by the curb, putting my spring total to 36. Just another one of the many things I won’t miss about this house.
